Welcome to my blog. I’m Marése O’Sullivan: writer, editor and journalist.
I’m currently studying the MA in Newspaper Journalism at City University London (where I edit the student magazine City OnTopic) and I’m a freelance editor.
My undergraduate degree was in English, French and Creative Writing from the National University of Ireland, Galway. As part of the programme, I gained a distinction for my creative writing portfolio. In my final year, I was the News Editor for the student newspaper, Sin, as well as Head of News for s:tv, the university’s television society.
I have worked for both The Alliance of Independent Authors (self-publishers) as the Editorial Assistant and for What I See (not-for-profit female empowerment project) as the Editorial and Social Media Assistant, where I focused on marketing, publicity and editing in particular.
I’m a regular contributor to the Irish writing advice website, writing.ie, and I will shortly be working for The Bath Chronicle, BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine, The Observer and The Sunday Times. I also enjoy writing fiction, poetry and non-fiction.
