About Marése
Welcome to my blog. I’m Marése O’Sullivan: a 21-year-old writer, journalist and tea-lover.
I’ve always wanted to be a writer and, from the age of five, I’ve never looked back. I’m in the final year of my undergraduate studies in English, French and Creative Writing at the National University of Ireland, Galway. As part of the programme, I got the chance to spend my third year on Erasmus in the south of France, working on a portfolio of regular creative writing submissions for my editor, the wonderful poet and short-story writer Geraldine Mills.
Last summer, I spent an amazing few months as Editorial Assistant with The Alliance of Independent Authors in London, learning a hell of a lot about publishing, marketing, publicity and editing! This year, I’ve become News Editor for my university newspaper, Sin, as well as Head of News for s:tv, the college’s television society, working with amazing teams, and I hope to one day fulfill my dream of being a published author and journalist in the English capital.
I’ve also had work published by the fantastic Irish writing advice website, writing.ie, from author interviews to features on my time as a Creative Writing student. If you’d like to have a look at a full list of my publication credits, just click on In The Press.
Hope you enjoy my blog – say hi in the comments, on Twitter or via email!
